Ryan Gordon
Ryan Gordan was selected as TekPro Support Services’ Employee of the Quarter (July-September 2024). He was recognized as an exemplary asset as a Deployability Coordinator to the MEB Support Virtual Team serving Navy BUMED!! He was nominated and selected as the Employee of the Quarter because of his superior job performance and his willingness to go above and beyond contractual obligations. This attitude and work ethic directly aided TSS’ efforts to secure a follow-up 5-year contract following the one-year pilot contract.
His professionalism and knowledge of Navy and military culture is second to none. His passion to help Sailors return from injury and/or illness to full time duty or smoothly process through the VA for their well-deserved benefits is evident by his constant efforts to improve the “Limited Duty” process and support tools. His determination and tenacity consistently leads our team in “closed” cases which helps improve the Navy’s lethality and deployability.
He was credited by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), LT Robert Coleman to being a significant reason the Navy’s “inactive” case percentage hit 1.9%, the lowest in recent history and 5% at San Diego (one of the largest facilities in the Navy) helping the Navy to reach their DOD goal of 5% for the first time in recent history.
He provided leadership in the following initiatives:
• Developing and delivering the Navy standard for Deployability Coordinator training for hundreds of Navy providers and personal.
• Coordinating with Dr. Rice (in charge of SD Wounded Warriors) to implement a Limited Duty Questionnaire to “pilot” at San Diego. LIMDU patients will be required to complete the questionnaire when going on “Limited Duty” that will be provided to physicians prior to their evaluation appointments which helps reduce Sailors falling into “inactive” status.
• Leading the initiative to add a “comment box” for each case within LIMDU SMART, a Navy wide program assisting the MEB process. This comment box assists physicians and deployability coordinators identify “inactive” Sailors while on “Limited Duty” Status.
